We run a variety of weaving workshops for children, adults, individuals and groups. Weaving workshops include coiling, random and twining techniques, garden features and more.
The workshops are great activities for school groups, professional development for art teachers, parent groups, church groups, team building activities and more.

Woven Christmas Tree Workshop

Celebrate the festive season with creativity and connection to nature at our Woven Christmas Tree or Garden Obelisk Workshop. In this hands-on experience, you’ll learn how to craft your own unique sculpture using beautiful, locally-sourced natural fibres—think twisting vines, pliable branches, and textured leaves.
Whether you choose to create a festive Christmas tree or a year-round garden obelisk, you’ll leave with a stunning, sustainable piece of art and the skills to continue weaving at home. We’ll also guide you through the essentials of harvesting and preparing fibres.

Christmas Wreath Workshop

Embrace the festive spirit and create something truly special at our Woven Christmas Wreath Workshop! Using a beautiful mix of natural fibres—including vine, fresh foliage, and seasonal flowers—you’ll handcraft your own unique wreath to take home and enjoy throughout the holiday season. Your finished wreath will feature a handwoven vine frame—sturdy, reusable, and perfect for any occasion throughout the year. Simply update it with fresh foliage or decorations to suit the season.

Lampshade Weaving Workshop.

In this workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind drum lampshade that you can use on a lampstand or hang as a pendant. We will use random weaving techniques to wrangle vines, twigs and leaves through a wire frame. The workshop will also include information on harvesting and preparing natural materials for weaving.
Time: 10am – 3pm
Location: CWA Hall, 79 Victoria Street, Berry

Random Weave Basketry Workshop.
Penrith Regional Gallery
Saturday 21st July 2024
Spend a day at Penrith Regional Gallery learning the art of random weave basketry. In this workshop you will create your own randomly woven basket or sculpture from foraged vines, branches and leaves. Participants will start by wrangling vines to create a basic framework, before filling or extending the frame into a basket or sculpture. There will also be a guided wander around the beautiful gallery gardens to talk about material collection and preparation.

Gang Gang Gallery Lithgow

Join us for a day of weaving in the beautiful Gang Gang Gallery where you will create your own unique woven lampshade. In this workshop participants will use natural fibres and random weaving techniques to weave a lampshade that could be hung from the ceiling or used on a floor lamp. Participants will have the choice to make a drum or lampshade (limited numbers of each).
